What is OncoBites/Who Are We?
We are a volunteer team of cancer professionals and patient advocates who share some of our favorite cutting-edge research with the general public. We ultimately aim to make cancer research more accessible! We do this, not by oversimplifying the science, but through bite-sized articles written in clear language.

How Do the Writing and Editing Processes Generally Work?
First, for each writing cycle, interested contributors sign up to write and/or edit an x amount of articles. Next, they will be put on a schedule, where they are assigned deadlines for completing first drafts, first edits, second drafts, etc. This schedule will be emailed to all who have signed up and are accepted to contribute. Each writer will be assigned an editor to work with during the writing process (OncoBites will email both of you to introduce you to each other). Once the writer and editor both agree and indicate that the article is ready for publication, the article will be scheduled to post on the website. This article will be shared via our social media pages as well.
More details will be emailed to contributors who have signed up to be in our next writing cycle.
What is the Time Commitment Like for Authors?
We let you set your commitment, as well as your availability! In other words, you can sign up to contribute as much or as little as you like, depending on your schedule! We just ask that if you do sign up and are put on the schedule, please adhere to your assigned deadlines. And if anything comes up and you need a small deadline extension, please let us know promptly so that we can adapt and adjust accordingly.

Is There Paid Compensation?
We are a volunteer team, and everything is done on a volunteer basis. Therefore, we cannot give any financial compensation. However, you do get valuable experience, and you get to build your writing/editing portfolio as well!
